Last week I had a chat with Craigavon City man Colm Nash. I took the chance to congratulate him and the club on a successful season and got an update on the plans for the season ahead. Exciting times with the whole club going from strength to strength. The local football scene is very much on the up. JD has avoided communications as of yet and I would like to wish him the best of luck as he is set to get married

Hot off the Press after his appointment as the New Derryhirk First team manager, Gavin took time out of his busy schedule to give us an update on his new role, his ambitions for the club and the exciting times ahead both for him and the club. His positivity and desire to succeed has seen him compile a young and energetic new management team and and he is actively strengthening his playing squad. Mid Ulster Division 2 will see great rivalries reignited with games against neighbours Goodyear and Lurgan Celtic. Mid Ulster Junior Football in Lurgan has a bright future.

Ballinamallard legend Whitey Anderson played Keepie Uppies & boy did he play Keepie Uppies! He reminisced on his younger days supporting Leeds United & coming up against a certain James Milner at the Foyle Cup. He took us through his journey revolutionising youth football in Ballinamallard, guiding the club to Harry Cavan Youth Cup glory, becoming first team manager & leading them to the promise land - the Irish Premier League! What memories, what an adventure & what a football legacy left by Whitey Anderson.

An inspirational game of Keepie Uppies with current player/coach of Lisburn Ladies FC Julie Henderson. We talked about her journey to top level football having started her playing career mixing with the boys, to going on to represent Northern Ireland at underage. An ambassador for the ladies game Julie brings a drive and professionalism to every team she has been involved in. A seasoned professional in all that she does. A self employed strength and conditioning coach as well as a dynamic midfielder Julie has a bright future ahead of her and any budding female footballers should draw on her words of encouragement and follow her lead.

We talked about the clubs pending playing off against their neighbours Portadown FC for a place in the top flight of Irish League football and discussed Ciarans journey as player and manager.
